Alone in bed in the dark.
Enveloped in silence,
Slowing my breathing,
To let medication take effect.
To ease the pain that shakes through me.
As the pressure starts to ease,
My life becomes mine.
Imagination takes over as I wonder
When will I be whole again?
NOTE:
This poem was written for all those in pain and living alone. Pain can be, and often is a very lonely business. This is just an idea: ask them, if you live in a different part of the world to them, if they would like a message or a phone call to break up their restless nights. Sometimes, it helps just to know someone is there for a few minutes.
