Courage shows in many ways at the moment the act occurs, either natural disaster or man-made. At that moment, you do something extraordinary and are called brave, a hero applauded.
Courage is needed for much longer, private, unseen by others. As you deal with the memories, the pain, the agonising losses, and the struggle to find yourself and a new life to live.
That takes real courage.
