Such beauties as these and the memories attached, now lounge in cupboards at the very back.
Too precious to risk in shaking hands or heaven forbid.
The detergent's aggressive cleaning swipes, lifting the gold leaf and taking it for a non-return ticket ride.
It is with hope I write that they are saved and brought out for stories to be told, of when they were used on great family gathering days.
